Sons-Of-The-Soil

If an individual or group maintain that they have the right to be called "sons of the soil" just because they belong to a particular community or religion, they in fact forfeit that right. For, it is absolutely false to claim that the members of a certain religion or community are unpatriotic just because they belong to that religion or community. There are patriotic individuals in every religion and community in India and simillarly, there are unpatriotic elements too who don't care a damn for the country. Besides, individuals from every community and religion have shed their blood for the founding of this nation and who are we to discount their sacrifice as of no value. No one has the right to doubt the patriotism of any individual, religious group or community and to pass a verdict on them for we are all to blame when we see our politicians raping our country with this divisive attitude and turn a blind eye to it or worse still, elect them for a new term of office. The Pope is right when he claimed that we are not upholding the noble ideals of our founding fathers, for all who continue with this attitude lose the right to be called "sons of the soil" as they are causing the very fragmentation of the nation which our founding fathers gave their lives to build, and with this attitude the destruction can only get worse, for, as we saw in Gujarat this time, finally no one is the winner. Only when this cancerous attitude is totally rooted out and a stable peace protected rather than the fragile calm presently experienced, can we be said to be upholding those noble ideals and finally be truly on the road to progress.
